“Constance is amazingly talented and creative, with a wonderful sense of style and a true commitment to realizing her clients’ dreams.”
“It was just great to work with Constance on a redesign of some rooms in my home. She is such a creative, inspiring person and I enjoyed every moment, whether it was working on the ideas or the finished result!”
“I have been inspired by Constance Uzwyshyn’s amazing creativity since 1992 when she curated the art exhibit for the grand opening of my international global law firm’s thoroughly contemporary office in Kyiv, Ukraine. And what an exhibit it was: the best Ukrainian artists emerging, and exploding, finally, free to paint from their hearts and souls after the fall of the Soviet Union and Ukraine’s new-found independence. Thereafter, I never moved too far from Constance as far as art was concerned. Constance continued to curate our corporate collection as we moved and upgraded offices in Ukraine for the next 25 years. Other of my law firm’s offices in other European cities demanded to be part of the art selection. My law partners and colleagues would not be left out from having Constance contribute to their personal art collections. A client from Paris bought extensive art work from Constance’s gallery, ARTEast. Everyone in my extended family and my circle of friends throughout the U.S. has art work purchased from Constance.Today, I am happy in every room of my house filled with wonderful art work curated by Constance Uzwyshyn. You should fill your house and office with the same.”
“We employed Constance to project manage an almost total rebuild of a ‘hoarder house’. We had just been deserted by a ‘rogue builder’, who left our house in a significantly worse position than we started with and engaged Constance to bring in an entirely new team to fix it structurally, decorate, paint and fix all the fittings. She managed to turn the project around within 6 months, on budget (no small feat) and literally save our dream home. I would strongly recommend Constance for any building project.”
“Constance Uzwyshyn is a creative, client-focused force! Her ability to create fresh, stylish and liveable environments is undeniable as is her strong work ethic and commitment to her client’s needs and vision. Constance is the real deal and a wonderful partner to help anyone create an environment that is a pleasure to inhabit.”
“Constance project managed our refurbishment taking away all the strain for us.She brought our ideas to life with her patient listening, expertise in materials, colour and textures sourcing and expert design she showed us what was out there and what is possible. She even took us to get involved in the creation and making of our own lead lights for our front door.”
“Constance was a source of inspiration and ideas ...always helpful and considerate towards achieving what we needed for the extension and refurbishment of our deli, overcoming all setbacks and problems that arose during the works. The final result ended with the prestigious 2011 Civic society award for best refurbishment in St Albans. We have always been grateful that we can return to Constance for suggestions in the changes we have made in our image and layout of the store since.”
“Constance (Ms. Uzwyshyn) inspires a wonderfully grounded yet whimsical aesthetic. First introduced at ARTEast in Kyiv Ukraine, a gallery she founded (circa 1995), sourcing Ukrainian-identified artists. The warm ochre-hued gallery became a comfortable convening spot for the expatriate community, where special events and auctions were hosted, however the gallery was also a place of serenity, a place to look a beautiful artwork. I continue to follow her work, visiting St. Albans, viewing her superb Edwardian home renovations. Knowledgeable and true to historic detail and laced with contemporary vision, Constance’s decor balances a welcoming home-environment with a semblance of a gallery. Maintaining the Edwardian character, the home’s rooms however, are individualistically unique. An Edwardian doorbell and a mounted antelope head greet you upon entry, an ornate silver framed mirror contrasts to the unadorned Ukrainian-realism paintings; the formal living space/music room with elegantly placed soothing mauveish silk-velveteen Antonio Citterio sofas are contrasted with a full sized black and white zebra rug, with a geologic collection of amethyst crystals and fossils ornamenting the windowsills. The newly built light-filled open concept kitchen with warm oak wood finishes, and marble counter, which displays contemporary sculptures, is a welcoming gathering place; B&B Italia down-filled sofa and chairs, allow for a comfortable setting for conversation, an over-sized colorful painting cleverly disguises the television. Antique Chinese sideboards and petrified wood dining-stools capped with goat-skins, are a contrast to the supple hand-honed contemporary dining room table. Delightful whimsical displays abound, a Chinese birdcage, crystal candelabras, and other curiosities bedeck the room and home. Grand glass windows and doors cleverly integrate the garden into the home’s aesthetic. A hand-built pebbled-patio, is edged by a custom-built garden wall echoing St. Albans Cathedral with flint chards and limestone nestled within the brick. A winding path leads to seating area in an embracing garden. A delightful and enchanting home and garden.”
