ARTEAST'S STATEMENT

Joy, thou gleaming spark divine,

Daughter from Elysium,

Drunk with ardor, we drew near,

Goddess, to thy shrine!

Your magic unites again,

What fashion harshly separates;

All mankind become brothers,

Where thy gentle wing tarries.

F. Schiller’s “Ode to Joy”

"Boris writes about himself that he was born in Armenian mountains, and nobody knows by what wind was he brought to us. But the very fact that he breaks an exciting stereotype of the “modern painting” by his very existence is evident even to a colour-blind. He tears the stereotype of a dull everyday living. A wizard with sad Armenian eyes in a black coat strolls in the city and creates wonders: multicoloured toy cities of childhood with little figures flying over them, shining morning bouquets and lost “bikes of childhood”. By one wave of his brush with the ease of a child or of Matisse he creates astringent sonorous mosaics of the oriental palette. On the verge of naivet??, a fairy-tale purity. But is not that is just what we need now?"

"Boris is not at all a playful modernist who plays with meanings and cultures. He is deeply involved with the only one – his culture. But it is so infinite!"

Aleksey Titarenko, Art Historian, Kyiv, Ukraine
